Issue 3: Distractions

There’s nothing better or worse than a distraction. The powerful distract us from what’s important, and we distract ourselves from the results. Is it even possible to pay attention to what we’re supposed to?

For slips slips #3, we want to see short works that address both sides of the equation – by exposing nefarious distractions and creating more pleasurable ones.

WORDS:
We’re seeking works of 500 words in less, in any genre: fiction, memoir, reportage, poetry, humor, script, criticism, and experimental work. Bonus points if you want to write it out by hand!

IMAGES:
We’re seeking black-and-white/grayscale work of pretty much any kind: illustration, comics, cartoons, collages, and experiments. Novel and unexpected formats encouraged.

QUESTIONS?
If you have questions or want to pitch us a weird idea, we’re open to it! Send questions and submissions to slipsslipsslipsslips[at]gmail[dot]com by August 30, 2026 .
